An update on resolved issues in Golden Records.
If you have been getting the "Input array is longer than the number of columns in this table." error this was caused by an extra column in one table in the dataset. This was resolved in the 3.0.4 release on 15 November.
The "BC30451: 'CompiledRecords' is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level" error or similar was resolved in 3.0.5 on 17 November. This error is caused by an invalid column in the columns selected for the report, or an invalid group, or an invalid sort. If you are still seeing this error please help by providing information about what you were doing beforehand as it is currently testing out as resolved.
Some have reported missing handicaps and classifications. Investigation showed that some handicaps and classifications were obscured from view or were being ignored. This affected classifications of Bowman and above. Further, handicaps and classifications forming (in UK use) season start values were being hidden when the archer concerned had shot no scores in the season. This has been resolved in 3.0.7 released 21 November.
Users getting "The specified table does not exist. [ Reports ]" and "System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException" are advised that the database update to convert the version 2 database to version 3 has not run. This may be caused by manually copying the database file to the version 3 path rather than using the program to transfer the data. This has now been trapped so the presence of a v2 database causes an update irrespective of when the database is copied.
The manual for the early versions of V3 contained a number of errors and made references to functions and controls that only existed in V2. The 3.0.7 release has dealt with the worst of these, and the manual and help will be improved over the coming weeks.
A reminder that v3 needs different serial codes from v2. I appreciate the inconvenience to users, but the onward march of Windows versions rendered the old licensing system out of date and it no longer being possible to generate serial codes. You can obtain a new code (free) from your account. However, I have been inundated with requests from users to issue new codes as changes in club officials has rendered access to the original purchase impossible. A change to record keeping will be made to try and address this problem. Please bear with me.
